OPI WH comparison

OPI (Online Poker Inspector) is not a botting platform in itself so it is hard to make a direct comparison between OPI and WH.
However due to the fact that OPI offers customisable features and offers advice as to what action the player should take it is more advanced than most other Poker Odds calculators and is therefore often used as the decision engine for a bot, with third party programs reading the advice given from OPI and clicking the buttons on a poker site.
OPI has the following advantages over WH/OH:
- The Author (Robert) maintains the site "profiles"
- It works out of the box on close to 20 sites
- There are cheap ($20) profiles that claim to have been able to beat .25/.50 limit games for 2-3BB/100 at some point
Disadvantages
- Poor opponent modelling
- Limited knowledge of previous rounds
- Aimed at limit games
- No autoplay support - Third party add ons required.
- Buggy as hell
The "button-pushers" for OPI are a fragmented group (frogbot (table hopper), Poker Andriod, pokerbot plus). OPI would have been much better if:
- It weren't so buggy.
- You had the abilty to "see" what the scraper (using WH term) saw.
- It wasn't such a resource hog
So many number of times OPI would get an update and bots go from 2-3BB/100 to -2/3BB/100.....update time means hovering over the forums waiting for war stories and then trying to piece together what Robert broke. There is zero chance of "fixing" it yourself, all you could do was report and pray others were having the same issue.
It soon becames a game of who had which older "working" version for your site (updates are optional). As mentioned, if OPI is ever bolted with a widespread commercial hopper - it will be lights out.
Also, PokerStars recently banned OPI.
More stories, quoted from Zippy: "Well, in the first WH lab there were 5 of us who spent 3 months doing nothing but working on a limit bot (at the time for stars). That work was beat (by ~.50 BB/100) by the first OPI bot I bought for $20 (Amalgam). At the time I was getting regular 4 digit offers for the code from that lab. Having said that - I think Amalgam is the top for what OPI can do, WH on the other hand is a different story. For someone who has limited time - I would recommend OPI."
